ISC Connect
ISC Connect is our project for Somali older people living in Islington. Our activities address isolation, helping people to socialise and be fully part of the community.
The project provides a direct link with the ISC Advice service, meaning that people can get the help they need from referrals to health services to support with securing disability and other benefits.
Many clients suffer from long-term health issues such as dementia and ISC Connect provides a vital lifeline to the outside world. This includes befriending, home visits, and social sessions at our base in Finsbury Park.

ISC workshops on prostate cancer
The ISC workshops on prostate cancer have had a significant impact on men in our community. Previously, prostate cancer was considered a taboo subject, and many men felt uncomfortable discussing their symptoms or concerns. As a result, issues often went unnoticed and diagnoses were delayed.
Through these workshops, awareness has increased, and more men now feel confident speaking openly about their health. Many are sharing their experiences and encouraging others to seek medical advice early. This shift has promoted early detection and timely medical intervention, helping men manage the condition more effectively and improve their overall quality of life.
The workshops have helped break down stigma, empowered men with knowledge, and created a supportive environment where they feel safe to talk, ask questions, and take proactive steps toward their health.
